Delay in MC House meeting triggers political row in Amritsar

A delay in convening the general house meeting of the Amritsar Municipal Corporation has triggered a political row, with opposition councillors accusing the ruling leadership of avoiding the session due to a lack of majority support. City Mayor Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia had in January sought development proposals from various departments of the municipal corporation as well as from councillors. However, even as March has begun, the schedule for the general house meeting has yet to be announced.
