EC seeks report on Bengal clash; Cops, BJP workers injured

Violence erupted in Basanti, South 24 Parganas during a BJP candidate's campaign. Eight people were arrested and five police personnel were injured. The Election Commission has asked the West Bengal Director General of Police for a report. The EC questioned the delay in deploying central forces and the permission granted for the procession.
