Goa Casinos to Halt Operations on Gandhi Jayanti

In honor of Gandhi Jayanti, Goa's government mandates the closure of all casinos on October 2. This decision, announced by the Department of Home (General), is a gesture of respect towards Mahatma Gandhi. Six off-shore and several on-shore casinos will halt operations for 24 hours.
