Hugo Ekitike is set to join the France squad, replacing Rayan Cherki for the World Cup qualifiers. Cherki suffered a thigh injury and will be out for two months. Ekitike has been in good form for Liverpool, scoring three goals in three games. France will face Ukraine and Iceland in September 2025.
