Entrepreneur Namita Thapar recently shared that menopause and a frozen shoulder forced her to pause exercise for nearly six months, stepping away from gym workouts, dance, yoga and Pilates. Now about 50% recovered, the Shark Tank India judge has returned to the gym focusing on leg and core workouts that don’t strain her shoulder, while highlighting the importance of maintaining muscle mass. Fitness expert Garima Goyal explained that preserving muscle in the 40s and 50s is vital for metabolic health, insulin sensitivity, bone strength and mobility, noting that rebuilding strength gradually with resistance training, adequate protein and recovery helps restore muscle after periods of inactivity and supports healthy ageing.
