India climbs to 3rd in global AI ranking, surpassing UK and South Korea

India has surged to third place in Stanford’s 2025 Global AI Vibrancy Tool, a leap from seventh last year, driven by a thriving startup ecosystem, rapid expansion of AI talent, significant improvements in research output, strengthened infrastructure, and strategic government initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, governance, and responsible AI adoption across the country.
