Painkillers, specifically NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs), can cause varying degrees of kidney damage.As a matter of fact, research indicates that in intensive care units (ICUs), NSAID use can lead to up to 15 percent of cases of renal failure. This can lead to the permanent kidney damage which can then turn into the CKD when used over a long period.
