Malayalam actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju (Sudheer Kumar Raju) was arrested by the Thiruvananthapuram Museum Police on February 6, 2026, following a hit-and-run incident near the Trivandrum Club. The actor allegedly rammed his car into a motorcycle carrying two youths, Sooraj and Nivedith Krishna, leaving them with serious fractures and spinal injuries. Traced via a dislodged number plate, the actor claimed he "panicked" due to his health condition as a cancer survivor and has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
