Odisha Doctor Suspended for Directing Patients to Private Pharmacies

A government doctor, Hemanta Kumar Maharana, was suspended in Odisha for instructing patients to buy medicines from private outlets instead of offering those available at the health centre, following complaints during a diarrhoea outbreak. The Health and Family Welfare Department issued the suspension order.
